Vitruveo Achieves Major Milestone with USDC Integration
We are thrilled to announce that Vitruveo has successfully completed the implementation of Circle’s Bridged USDC Standard! This marks a significant milestone in our journey.
This integration enables USDC to be bridged from Polygon to Vitruveo, offering our users a stablecoin to be used within the Vitruveo ecosystem. USDC will be accessible on Vitruveo through VTRU SWAP, our cutting-edge decentralized exchange.
The USDC on Vitruveo is labeled as USDC.pol, following the naming convention of the Bridged USDC Standard. This indicates that the USDC on Vitruveo is backed 1:1 by Circle’s native USDC from Polygon. Once USDC.pol on Vitruveo meets Circle’s internal adoption criteria, it will be upgraded to native USDC used on their Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) network. This success was achieved in conjunction with VIA Labs, a cross-chain messaging protocol, marking Vitruveo as the first blockchain to complete their Path to USDC onboarding program!
Overview of the Project Steps
- Deployment on Testnet: We started by deploying the USDC program’s smart contracts on both our testnet and the Polygon Mumbai testnet. VIA Labs conducted successful initial testing, completing the first milestone
- End-to-End Testing back: The next step involved thorough testing of these smart contracts on the testnets, with both Vitruveo and Circle reviewing and approving the contracts. This marked the completion of the second milestone.
- Deployment on Mainnet: Finally, we deployed the smart contracts on the Vitruveo and Polygon main nets, completing the last milestone.
To get started using the Vitruveo USDC Bridge, here are the steps to follow:
- Step 1: Fund an account on the Polygon chain with USDC (Official Contract Address: 0x3c499c542cEF5E3811e1192ce70d8cC03d5c3359) and a little bit of MATIC for gas.
- Step 2: Visit Vitruveo USDC Bridge with your browser and connect with your Polygon account using MetaMask or your preferred wallet.
- Step 3: Enter the amount of USDC you wish to bridge and click Bridge Token. Your wallet will prompt you to approve the amount and the bridging.
- Step 4: In just a couple of minutes, you will see USDC.pol in the same account on the Vitruveo blockchain.
Adding USDC to Vitruveo gives us a stable, reliable currency that reduces volatility and builds trust in our network. This stablecoin opens up new possibilities for lending, borrowing, and seamless payments.
